As the 2016-17 academic year begins, Penn Electric Racing kicks things into high gear in preparation for another year of successful competitions ahead. In our efforts to continue with our legacy of designing and manufacturing one of the fastest accelerating cars in the world, we have recruited 68 new members, bringing our total membership to over 105 of the best and brightest minds at Penn, ranging from diverse backgrounds in engineering, computer science, and business.
During the first GBM of the year attended by newly accepted members, energy and excitement levels were extremely high. Every single member was ready to jump right in and start working and collaborating on many different projects and ideas! To kick off the year, we all crammed into our home base, Towne B11, to take a new team picture. The photograph showcases our biggest and most talented team yet. The team has grown so much since last year and has even more potential to foster for this year's competitions.
The hard work we put into REV2 paid off in the form of a second place international ranking, but this year we're going for gold. We can't wait to bring our best car yet to life and show the international community of Formula SAE how we do things here at Penn!
